Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has been quite busy these past few weeks with a little project called The Longshot.
While Green Day are currently taking some well deserved rest off the back of the 2016 release “Revolution Radio” and last year’s greatest hits compilation “God’s Favourite Band”, Billie Joe Armstrong has gone back to his roots with his new band.
Earlier this month, Billie Joe Armstrong was teasing on social media on a new musical project dubbed The Longshot with a series of cryptic video and images.
Then last week, The Longshot dropped a three-song EP with an announcement of a debut album “coming eventually sooner or later. Properly sooner“. The album came out a lot sooner than we thought.
The Longshot is a plesent mix of ’70s punk with “Nimrod” era Green Day.
The Longshot have also announced some tour dates. So, if you wish to see Billie Joe in a more intimate setting, this will be your chance. Do not expect any Green Day material though.
