UK’s popular Download Festival is set to come to Australia in 2018. With several fake line up flyers floating around these last few months all rumours have finally been put to rest as the lineup is finally here! The festival is being held in Melbourne at the Flemington Racecourse in March with a capacity of 25,000.
Headlining the festival and their only Australian appearance is nu metal legends Korn which is their first time back in the country since 2010. Other huge names on the lineup including Limp Bizkit, Good Charlotte and NOFX. A total of 29 bands across 4 stages and even more impressively a third of the list are bands from right here in Australia.
“It is a great honour and very exciting that we are bringing the festival to Australia,” says Andy Copping, Download founder.
“Since the inception of Download UK in 2003, we have been looking for other territories to launch the festival and having successfully found a home for Download in France and Spain, we felt that the next country had to be Australia.
“Many rock fans from Australia have been in contact with us asking us to bring the festival to them – we have finally heard their calling and I cannot wait to put Download Australia on the map!”
