After releasing two singles off their new album “-Anon.”, Hands Like Houses has certainly blessed their Spotify listeners with yet another single. The song was announced on the band’s twitter page on the 17th of September and is currently only available on Spotify, using this link HERE. All in all, it definitely seems like it lives up to the hype as many Twitter fans have been buzzing about it since it was released. ‘Tilt’ is the third single off the newest album with Hopeless Records.
The song starts with Woodley’s metallic voice echoing out as a guitar and drum pair into the verse. The melody then drops into a mini-breakdown and back into a second verse, sounding almost eerie with the backing of a steady drum and a few riffs thrown in.
The song falls for only a moment before exploding into the chorus, which is also filled with more soul-piercing screams filling the breakdown as it falls into a comparatively mellow verse with only a drum and few strums of the lead guitar. It almost entices the listener, waiting for the inevitable build and comes crashing down rather hard back as it flies into the electrifying chorus. The melody slows back into Woodley’s echoed voice among the grainy backdrop of low instrumentals.
Without hesitation, the sound picks right back up again and flows back again into a final chorus filled with even more intense riffs. Last but certainly not least, a noteworthy breakdown finishes off the track, coupled with a screaming solo.
Album and Tour Announcement
Hands Like Houses was formed in 2008 in Canberra Australia. The group offers a fresh blend of post-hardcore, indie, and experimental rock genres.
Back in July, the post-hardcore group announced that they would be putting out their fourth studio album, “-Anon.” on 12 October 2018 through Hopeless Records. In addition to the album announcement, on the very same day, the band released ‘Overthinking’, the first single off that album. ‘Monster’, a second single, was also released a month later.
Also during this time, Hands Like Houses also announced their Fall Tour for 2018 in North America, and will also be supported by Emarosa and Devour The Day.
