Real Friends release new song ‘Get By’ with music video

Tinley Park, Illinois favourites Real Friends have just released a new track ‘Get By’ accompanied with a new video.

This is truly about the music and the music only,” bassist Kyle Fasel explains on Alternative Press. “We focused on having higher energy and more melodic vocals with this track, and we hope everyone enjoys it and can take something away from it”.

While still sounding like the Real Friends that we all love, the band have brought in hints of melodic rock with parts even reminding me of classic emo/pop punk bands like The Starting Line and Jimmy Eat World. Since talking about The Starting Line I do recommend listening to their last record direction.

This is the bands first new song since releasing “The Home Inside My Head” in 2016. Will this be an indication of a new album? No word as of yet, but personally I am not complaining as I am sure this track will be on my playlists for quite a while.

The band will be embarking on a midwest run in November, making stops in Minneapolis, Iowa City and St. Louis, with their co-headlining holiday shows in their hometown of Chicago with Knuckle Puck.

A WEEKEND IN THE MIDWEST TOUR DATES with Life Lessons:
11/17 – Minneapolis, MN @ The Garage*
11/18 – Iowa City, IA @ Gabe’s*
11/19 – St. Louis, MO @ The Firebird*

CHICAGO HOLIDAY SHOWS with Knuckle Puck:
12/29 – Chicago, IL @ Metro Chicago (w/ This Wild Life, Hot Mulligan)
12/30 – Chicago, IL @ Metro Chicago (w/ Pet Symmetry, Free Throw)
