After harsh criticism, the trailer from Devil May Cry 5 featuring Suicide Silence is no longer on Youtube. It has also been pulled from all current promo material. Suicide Silence has been figuratively torn to shreds by their fans.
The Fans Have Spoken
The track was a collaboration between the game’s composer Cody Matthew Johnson and Suicide Silence. Most fans and listeners insist that it doesn’t fit the game’s tone.

Two years in the making, I can finally announced I composed Dante’s theme for Devil May Cry 5 in collaboration with death core pioneers Suicide Silence.

This song is bad, you should feel bad, and by the way it was clearly written for the wrong Dante. Main timeline Dante is neither foul-mouthed nor an anti-hero. Damage control all you want, you know I’m right and the people are rioting.

Never mind the lyrics, the fact that you seemingly took the wrong Dante as reference, all of that aside: What is up with the mixing?
On top of the criticism it seems the band’s past has caught up with them (again). Capcom have recently been made aware of Eddie Hermida’s past with an underage fan.
Statement from Capcom
“The music was recorded for the game before the incident came to light and we were unaware of the incident until now,” said Capcom in the statement. “However, as we are now aware of the current situation, Capcom has decided that moving forward, we will not further highlight the Dante battle theme for promotional purposes at this time. We are also currently evaluating what options are possible for the full game at this point, which is dependent on various factors such as resources.”
No word yet on whether or not the band’s song will make it into the game. Devil May Cry 5 out March 8, 2019
Suicide Silence Smells Like Failure
In other Suicide Silence news, the group have decided since they butchered nu-metal, they can mess around with Grunge as well. Watch Suicide Silence cover Smells Like Teen Spirit at Festival Rock Al Parge in Bogotá, Columbia.
